Test and Inspection Manual of Brass Ball Valves

Test and Inspection Manual (TIM) of brass ball valves is a basic procedure and requirement of finished goods inspection, which usually conducted before goods delivery. It is an important and final process of brass ball valve production. 1. Scope

This Test and Inspection Manual (TIM) established the requirements and test methods of inspect on-site, the main contents are dimension, function performance, material check for brass ball valves.

2. Inspection condition

At least 80% products are wrapped after finishing the 100% brass ball valve production.

3. Sampling standard:

According to ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2003 Single sampling plan:

Sample size：Level I and S-2

Defect AQL: critical :0 Major: 1.5 Minor: 4.0

Sample brass ball valves randomly selected from mass products.

it is the best to sample the products in initial, meta-phase and the final.

6. Inspection procedures

1. Quantity check

According to the order, each item to check,

2. Marking and printing check

Shipping mark---check B.U., Order NO, Destination---check 5 pallets

Mark on the pack（inner ＆ carton）---according to the order to check, check 5 samples

Bar-code check, use bar-code scanner to scan samples，according to S-1

3. Packing check

Bag check,use the bags which are agreed by B.U.，the dimension see Product list，Level-I

Pallet check,check the dimension and strength of the pallets,check 5 pallets

4. Product check

Check the appearance and type, Level-I

Material check---check the body and ball, check 2 valves

Brass ball valve dimension check

Check the inner diameter, use the vernier caliper, S-2

5. Thread Check

Check the thread by pass-plug, OK if pass, S-2

Check the thread by stop-plug, OK if stop, S-2

6. Leakage check

Seal check, Level-I, Strength of body check，charge water into the valve, OK is there is no water, check 2 piece brass ball valves

7. Defect list

1 The unilateral water leakage of the seal pressure test is judged as Major;

2 Water leakage on both sides of the seal pressure test, as well as external leakage, including water leakage at the shaft, shell, and shell joints is critical. (The defect can be repaired by tightening and strengthening without disassembling, and the defect level can be reduced)

3. A large number of small problems (exceeding the standard) will be rejected according to the standard, such as: broken bag, wrong color
